The paper is then glued and shaped on a supple frame of Higo bamboo ribbing, creating a delicate but powerful lighting sculpture.<\/p>\n<p>The soft and warm glow of light casting through the paper transforms \u201cthe harshness of electricity back to the light of our origins \u2013 the sun \u2013 so that its warmth may continue to fill our rooms at night\u201d as explained by Noguchi himself.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AKARI 26A suspension, created in 1953 during the very first years of collaboration between Noguchi and Ozeki, is the smallest ellipse in the 15A, 21A and 26A series, with a diameter of 45cm and a tight, regular bamboo wire structure.<\/p>\n<p>Isamu Noguchi's Akari light sculptures are considered icons of 20th century modern design.
